Social anxiety is the third most prevalent mental health problem behind depression and substance abuse. Despite the huge number of those afflicted, it remains an invisible handicap: most people who suffer, do so in silence. Shame, humiliation, and embarrassment rule. Most sufferers never go for help or communicate their problems to family or friends. Social anxiety is a very specific challenge, and should not to be confused with generalized anxiety. The following interviews are one-of-a kind, with real patients who had the courage to share their stories.
